Every year on the first Saturday in August the town of Joyce, Washington, holds its Wild Blackberry Festival which they have dubbed Joyce Daze. The purpose of the event is to raise funds for scholarships to local graduating seniors, emergency equipment and other local initiatives.

Midsummer is blackberry season in the westside of Clallam County. By August, every wild blackberry in the general vicinity of Joyce and beyond has been picked and baked into dozens upon dozens of sweet and juicy wild blackberry pies.

They cut and serve slices of blackberry pie at the festival, plus sell them whole. Come early and score yourself a pie before they run out (they WILL run out)!

Joyce Daze features a pancake breakfast, a parade down the middle of Highway 112, and a craft fair. Plus enjoy entertainment, a pie baking contest, and games for children. They even have slug racing!

The festival ends with a raffle. You'll go home tired but very happy.
