Midtown Public House

About Midtown Public House

Many Port Angeles locals remember China First Restaurant which did business at the same location as Midtown Public House. The owners of China First closed its doors, revamped the location, the ambiance, and the name, and then re-opened for business in February of 2017.

Reclaimed materials were used throughout the interior, which is now modern industrial, yet rustic and airy, bright and inviting. The restaurant is exceptionally open and roomy, so you don't feel squeezed in at all.

The owners' vision for catering to families in addition to the bar scene has now been realized. Most of Midtown Public House is now family-friendly.

At the same time, adults can patronize a full-service cocktail lounge (named China), or play rounds of pool between drinks.

The menu includes both American classics and versions of those same dishes with an Asian twist. For example, you have the option of topping your burger with kimchi, pork belly or fried egg. They also serve rice bowls of various sorts, and Asian fusion versions of both Asian and American meals, all of it mouth-watering.

Look through their menu to get an idea of choices and food presentation. Rest assured, it is incredibly delicious!

About the meals: – If you want the extras, for example, fries, salad, slaw, etc., you have to specifically ask for them. Meals are priced a la cartebut honestly if you wanted to get a side dish with your meal, the cost comes out to about what it would cost to have everything included under one price. Plus, the food is most definitely worth it!!!

Attira's Review of Midtown Public House

Attira’s Review - I have been to Midtown twice and both experiences were equally great. The environment of the restaurant is very nice and doesn’t feel at all crowded like other pubs do. Also, it was not excessively loud like most bars/pubs are. On both occasions of my visit to this restaurant, I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and neither time was I disappointed by this choice, it was equally delicious the first and second time that I had it. The staff is very friendly and I remember the service being fairly quick. I think that this restaurant is in my top five favorite restaurants in Port Angeles, despite only eating there a couple of times.

Washington State Covid-19 Status

As of July, 2021, Washington State is now generally open. However, current state mandates require masking for all indoor activity outside of ones own home. Additionally, there is a state mandate requiring restaurant patrons to provide proof of vaccination for indoor dining. Due to logistical difficulties, some restaurants are still open only for takeout/drive thru. HIPAA guidelines about privacy for medical information regarding indoor dining does not permit enforcement of covid mandates.
