A special and beautiful part of Hoquiam's history, Hoquiam Castle was built over a three year span. Building starting in 1897 and was completed in 1900. The builder, baron Robert Lytle, after just ten years of living in the 10,000 square-foot mansion, gifted his creation to his niece as a wedding present and moved to Portland.
After sitting vacant for many years, the mansion passed through a successive number of owners. It served as a Bed and Breakfast for a few years. The most recent owner passed away in December, 2019.
Hoquiam Castle will soon be listed for sale. Would YOU like to purchase it??
Hopefully the new owner will do something special with it, honoring its historic value to the community.
